The assessor's guide
Somebody has asked you to visit their café, shop or petrol station and fill in a questionnaire afterwards. This page says how to do it so that your answer counts. It takes three minutes to read.
Before the visit
Three things that take five minutes together
-
Join with the code
You were given a code of the shape ABCD-EFGH-JKMN, or a link. Open app.evaluation.ee, create an account with your e-mail address and enter the code. That gives you the assessor role: you see the questionnaires and your own visits, not the reports.
-
Read the questionnaire first
Then you know what to notice: whether you were greeted, how long you waited, whether anything was offered on top. But do not fill it in before you have been there — an answer written from memory is not an observation.
-
Go as an ordinary customer
Do not say you are assessing, and do not ask the staff the questionnaire's questions. Order what you would have ordered anyway — the questionnaire adapts by itself: if you did not order a coffee, you are not asked about the coffee.
During the visit
You are a customer who pays attention
-
Watch, do not write
A phone at the counter is visible from far away. Keep two or three facts in mind or in your notes — the time, the wait, what was offered — and fill the rest in afterwards.
-
Check the clock
When you joined the queue and when you got your order. The waiting time is the one question memory is certain to answer wrongly.
-
Judge what happened
Not what usually happens, and not what you expected. If the server was alone today and the queue was long, then that is how it was — and that is exactly what the company wants to know.
Filling the questionnaire in
The same day, every question, facts in the comment
-
Fill it in the same day
Right after the visit, while the details are fresh. A questionnaire left half-done stays on your phone for two weeks and waits until you come back.
-
The date and time are the visit's
Not the moment of filling in. The software offers the current time; if you fill it in later, correct it to when you were there. A visit cannot be placed in the future.
-
Answer every question you are shown
A skipped question counts as nought in the result; a question you were not shown does not count at all. If something genuinely could not be seen, leave it unanswered and say why in the comment — an admin can put it right later.
-
The comment is for facts
“I waited six minutes, there was one person at the counter” is useful. “The server was lazy” is not. Describe the situation, not the person — no name or appearance is needed, because it is the site that is being judged.
-
You cannot change a sent answer yourself
That is deliberate: the number has to be trustworthy even when somebody dislikes the result. If you made a mistake, tell the admin — they can correct it.
-
If the software names a date
“You can evaluate this location again from …” is not an error but the visit frequency the team has set. Choose another location, or come back then.
Afterwards
What becomes of your answers
The team's admins and managers see the answers, and your name is on every visit — because somebody has to be able to ask about an answer. In the reports the results gather by location and by question, and there your name is not what anybody looks at.
Your data is processed by the team that added you as an assessor; Evaluation.ee is the processor acting for them. The details are in the privacy policy.
If you want to stop
You can leave at any time: on the “My teams” page every team has a leave button. The evaluations you made stay with the team — they are its measurements, not yours, and the report they are part of must not change because you left.
Send this page to your assessors
The page is three minutes long and written to be forwarded together with the join code. If you are still looking for where to find assessors, that is written down separately.
